Starting from the very beginning...
If you go to http://www.norwegianforestcatbreedclub.org you'll see our home page. At the bottom, there is a button to Enter Site. Once you click that, you'll go to the Forum Index page. At the top you'll see the logo and a login box.
Login to be able to read and post to the forums. If you haven't registered, just click on the word register to create your account and join.
Further down the Index page you'll see the featured article -- right now, it's an article on why you should become a member. You'll also see on the left side the Search box and below it, the links for the Download section (more about that another time) and the list of Article categories. Below that is a member info box -- since you're not logged in, you'll just see another login screen like above.
On the right side of the Index page you'll see a listing of the recent posts on the forum. Below that -- although you can't see it on this screen shot -- is a stats box about members, posts, and members who are online. You can click on the post title (in green) to go directly to the post if you want. If you get an error when you try to do so, it's because you're not logged in and don't have access to that topic.
The boxes on the left side of the screen should be the same no matter where on the site you are. (At least I've tried to make that happen. If you find a page without those boxes, let me know.) The right hand boxes only show up on the Index page. There are a number of panels and blocks (as they are called in the Admin world) that we can add and position in various places on the screens. I've tried to keep them to a minimum so the site is less busy and confusing.
One other thing to note on the Index page -- and all the other Forum pages is the Navigation Bar right underneath the logo. For guests, there will be a few less items, for logged in members a few more, and admins will have all the available buttons. The active page -- in this case, the Index page -- will be green. The others will be blue. To go to the main Forum page or the Calendar, just click on the button.
